Every year Suzuki New Zealand offers the Suzuki Swift Sport Cup scholarship to one most deserving newcomer to the racing circuit. The promising up and coming successful applicant will receive free use of one of the specially prepared 1.6 litre Swift Sport hatchbacks to contest the upcoming Swift Sport Cup one-make production saloon car series.

Scholarship Format

Entrants competed at Manfeild Park, Feilding on Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th of September 2011, where they were judged by a panel in areas of fitness, media and sponsorship presentation, and finally timed laps. Judges made their decision based on driving ability, presentation, professionalism, and the ability to learn. Driver training was also provided prior to the official lap session. Only 20 entries accepted.
Entrants must be under 21 years of age and not have competed in a national championship tier 1 series. Individual rounds are allowed.
Cost of entry fee: $995.00 including GST.
Date of scholarship competition was Saturday the 10th of September, 2011.
- Entries closed August 31st, 2011.
- All applicants are required to fund their own Championship costs outside those supplied as part of the scholarship (approximately $20K)
- Competitors are responsible for any damage to vehicle that they cause in driver training.
