2007's lucky winner was Cody McMaster who was named in Christchurch on October 5 2007 in time for the opening round of the new championship at Pukekohe on November 3 and 4. Cody was selected as part of the scholarship package that Motorsport New Zealand is running for the Formula Ford class. |

| Budding new drivers competed in the Formula Ford trials at Ruapuna Park circuit near Christchurch on October 4 and 5 where Suzuki then selected the Swift Sport winner from the finalists who did not win the MTA Formula Ford scholarship. On the Friday, day two of the Ruapuna tests, all the finalists got the chance to race a Swift and the winner of the Suzuki scholarship was chosen from these shake-down trials. Once again a big congratulations to Cody McMaster, the first ever winner of the Suzuki Sport Cup scholarship, and to all those involved in the very exciting and successful racing trials at Ruapuna Park. |
